Here are a few of the dives sites located within Los Arcos:
Aquarium: Aptly named, this is a perfect dive site for beginners and experienced divers alike, with a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet, this dive site is packed with a wide variety of tropical fish and eels, such as the king angel, balloon fish, surgeon fish, zebra morays, jeweled morays, eagle rays, seahorses, nudibranches… and that’s just to name a few.
Swim throughs and unique underwater topography make this an interesting dive for everyone. We strongly recommend this dive for new divers, but also for certified divers who are getting back into their gear for the first time after a short break.
Devil’s Canyon: This is the perfect dive site for certified divers and the deep dive lovers among us. With depths from 18 metres/60 feet all the way down to 45 metres/130 feet (certification permitting), we can tailor the experience to your satisfaction.
The dive starts in The Aquarium, allowing us to sample what this beautiful site has to offer before setting off for The Banderas Trench. We will hit the canyon passing through The Devil’s Mouth where we will reach and experience The Banderas Trench’s maximum depth; prepare to be humbled by the sheer vastness of the ocean, gazing at the sun’s shimmering light and beyond, with over a mile drop below us. Then, follow the canyon along with some of the best chances of encountering manta rays and large schools of fish, before leaving the canyon to emerge on the other side of Los Arcos. This is the dive where you’ll take in one of the most spectacular views in Puerto Vallarta; you’ll feel as if you’re looking over the edge of the world…
This a must for all divers: to miss it would be similar to visiting Arizona and neglecting to see The Grand Canyon.
Bah Hol De Cristo (Shadow of the Christ): This is a nice, relaxing dive with depths to suit all divers, from 12 metres/40 feet down to 25 metres/85 feet approximate maximum depth, which makes it the perfect dive to follow a deep dive in The Devil’s Canyon.
Bah Hol De Cristo consists of three underwater pinnacles packed with assorted beautiful fish and impressive rays. This is also one of the best sites for those chance encounters with a seahorse and our little nudibranch friends.
