Yelapa is located 17 miles (28 Kilometres) south of Marina Vallarta. This is a great dive for all levels of experience. The dive itself explores the continuation of the mountains after they’ve met the ocean. We dive to depths up to 18 metres/60 feet. This dive is much like diving along a beach with the mountains rising up to the side of you. The currents can be mild to strong. Due to its distance from the marina, it’s very rare to see other divers, making it your own marine paradise. As well as being packed with the usual tropical fish and nudibranchs, this site provides a good chance of encountering eagle rays, manta rays, and possibly schooling tuna and jacks.
